HOUR TIME - 2009 54’ Viking Sportfish Horsepower: Twin MAN 1550 HP Diesels Weight: 80,000 lbs Fuel Capacity: 1445 Gallons Cruise Speed: 36 MPH = 31-32 Knots Wide Open Throttle: 47MPH = 40-41 Knots Generator: 21 KW ONAN Water Maker: 700 Gallons of fresh water per day
Hour Times' hull cuts a razor-like entry to a wave, followed by a soft and gentle transition as it re-enters coming back down into the trough. Translated – this means, on a rougher day, getting to our fishing spot feels more like a cruise on an open highway than a spin cycle on a washing machine. The Salon is lavishly done with air conditioning and/or heat making a day on the water a comfort in any temperature (if you choose to be inside).
Sit on the bridge, next to the captain and watch as he monitors depths, side imaging of the bottom contours and fish graphs showing fish and the depth that they are at. Hour Time is equipped with the all new Furuno Navnet 3D navigation system that is state of the art equipment for larger vessels. We have a weather system that tells storm size, speed, lightning bolts, when and where they happen and more.
The boat is made for Ocean crossings and system duplications are a must for safety. Hour Time has three GPS units, two radars, three VHF marine radios, two fish graphs; good to a thousand feet (works great at 90-120, where we typically fish).
Safety is number one when on the water. Hour Time is a Coast Guard inspected vessel. We also have a few more safety items that were added in addition to the tight requirements of the Coast Guard. A registered beacon is on board called an EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon),that can be manually set off if an emergency situation would occur or upon being submerged in the water, will send an emergency 406 Mhz signal to the Coast Guard and they would know that it is the vessel Hour Time and its current position. This is like calling 911 at home only we get fast Coast Guard boats and helicopters instead of police cars and fire trucks.
The second best place on the boat is the mezzanine seating area in the cockpit. This gives a shaded and relaxing area to make time to chat with friends and colleagues (of course, the best place on the boat is all the way back in the cockpit, fighting a fish!!).
Most of the time ice is a hard thing to have enough of on a hot day to cool fish and drinks. Hour Time can make 600 lbs of ice per day. We always have enough ice for your cooler when taking your catch home so just bring a big cooler and we’ll supply the ice. We clean the fish and bag them so it is cooler/ice ready for your departure. Hour Time boasts a large bathroom, a refrigerator if needed, and a comfortable Salon. All tackle and fishing equipment is tournament quality. When tournament fishing we acquire, and use the best lures on Lake Michigan. |
