2008 - Season in Review

A recap of last years' exciting events:

  • Hour Time wins 1st Place, Pro Division, in St. Joseph, Michigan on May 10th!!! (First time out this season!)

  • Mark & Rita head to New Gretna, NJ around the first week of June to pick up the new Hour Time – a 2009 54’ Viking and start heading back to Sturgeon Bay.  The journey took 10 days coming from the East Coast through the Erie Canal and then onto Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, Lake Huron and then South on Lake Michigan to Sturgeon Bay.
  • June 27th – First charter on the new boat after a couple of weeks getting her rigged up.
  • Randy & Mary Hemb enjoy a day of prefishing and Mary hooks up with a Lake Trout double using a slider rig (this is where you add another lure half way down).  Total of 24.7 lbs of Lake Trout....way to go Mary and Randy!!
  • July 24-29th – Manistee, Michigan tournament week proves good for Hour Time.  4th, 3rd, and 1st.   Also, Rita and crew pull off a big win in the Women’s Pro Division.
  • August 17th –  Sturgeon Bay, WI - Hour Time seals the deal on the 2008 Lake Michigan Tournament Trail Point Championship Series.   Weighing our 3 biggest fish for a total of 55.45 lbs.
  •  Hour Time finishes 3rd in the inaugural GL2S (Great Lakes Salmon Series) Championship Points Series.  Fishing against 16 of the top boats on Lake Michigan in a season-long event, the Hour Time crew was able to put together an excellent and consistent season. Their early-season consistency, led by their 1st Place finish at St. Joe, kept them high in the standings for the entire season even though they did not fish some of the later events.
